A Clearing for the Soul

This morning, in the soft stillness of Gentle Flow Yoga at Sunflower Studio, I shared a poem that has long been a lantern on my path:
Clearing
by Martha Postlethwaite
Do not try to save
the whole world
or do anything grandiose.
Instead, create
a clearing
in the dense forest
of your life
and wait there
patiently,
until the song
that is your life
falls into your own cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.
Only then will you know
how to give yourself to this world
so worthy of rescue.
How often we are taught that worth is earned by labor, that love must be proven, that transformation requires force.
But life — life, in its deepest truth — asks for none of that.
Life asks only that we make space.
It is not in the striving, but in the softening, that the true music of our lives can find us.
For many years, I carried the burden of "doing" as my offering — believing that my worth would be written in my exhaustion, my accomplishments, my ceaseless giving. I rushed, I forced, I tried to carve rivers through stone.
But healing taught me another way:
I am worthy because I exist.
That is the whole sentence. Nothing more is needed.
Now I know:
It is not about saving the world.
It is about clearing a sacred space within myself — a soft meadow where my truest self can rise like the morning sun, without effort, without striving.
It is about trusting the slow unfolding.
Trusting that what is meant for me is already finding its way.
Trusting that life’s deep river will carry me exactly where I am meant to go.
At The Creatrix, this is the heart of my vision:
☼ To guide you home to your own clearing.
☼ To reconnect you with the wisdom that has always lived within your bones.
☼ To help you dance with life instead of wrestling it.
☼ To walk with you through the sacred spiral of healing and becoming.
Our four sacred stones — Connection, Trust, Flow, and Transformation — are the waymarks of this path.
Each one a whisper:
"You are already enough."
"You are already home."
"Rest. Allow. Receive."
Today, I offer this blessing:
May you lay down your burdens.
May you create a clearing in the dense forest of your life.
May you wait there patiently — not with urgency, but with devotion.
And when the song of your soul falls into your cupped hands, may you greet it as the oldest, dearest friend you have ever known.
You do not have to save the world, dear one.
You only have to find yourself.
And oh, how the world needs that.
How the world is waiting for your light.
Poem: "Clearing" by Martha Postlethwaite, from "Life Saving: A Memoir" (2017, Holy Cow! Press). Used with deep gratitude and respect.
