In a world that rewards busyness, we’ve forgotten how to rest.
We measure worth in productivity, fill every quiet moment with noise, and call exhaustion a badge of honor. Yet beneath all the striving, our bodies are whispering what they’ve known all along — that rest is not a luxury, but a necessity. Rest is medicine.
My Story: Remembering How to Rest
For most of my life, I was driven by the need to prove myself — in my career, in motherhood, in my relationships. I pushed through exhaustion, believing that achievement equaled value. I ignored the signals my body sent: the tension in my chest, the fatigue that never quite lifted, the sense that something essential was missing.
It wasn’t until my own nervous system began to unravel that I realized how disconnected I had become from my body’s wisdom. I had mistaken stillness for laziness, and rest for weakness. What I discovered instead is that rest is a portal — a way back home to myself.
Through Yoga Nidra, meditation, and the slow, sacred practices of mindfulness, I began to listen again. Rest became my teacher. It showed me that healing doesn’t come from doing more, but from allowing myself to be — to soften, to feel, to breathe. It was in rest that I began to reclaim clarity, creativity, and a sense of trust in my own inner rhythm.
Now, through The Creatrix, I share these teachings with others who are ready to step out of survival mode and into presence. To remember that healing happens in the spaces between. To re-learn the language of the body. To rest not as escape, but as restoration.
The Invitation
The Rest as Medicine workshop series was born from this journey — an offering to help others reclaim their nervous system, one breath at a time.
Each session is a sacred pause — a space to slow down, release the noise, and reconnect with your natural rhythms of restoration.
You’ll experience gentle teachings on rest and the nervous system, guided journaling, a 30-minute Yoga Nidra meditation, and a closing ritual to ground your intentions. Together, we’ll rediscover what it means to rest deeply — to restore from within.
Below you can explore upcoming workshop dates, or join virtually from wherever you are. Whether you’re arriving in burnout, seeking clarity, or simply longing for stillness, this invitation is for you.
