Dawn Cannon Bio

Dawn Cannon is a former banking executive, entrepreneur, trauma-informed yoga teacher, meditation guide, retreat leader, business consultant, author, artist, and founder of The Creatrix, LLC. After more than 20 years in the banking industry, including serving twice in C-suite leadership roles, Dawn redirected her professional life toward purpose-driven work that bridges leadership, mindfulness, healing, and community care.

During her banking career, Dawn built a reputation for creating order from complexity, leading teams through change, strengthening operations, and bringing grounded, strategic leadership to high-responsibility environments. Her background includes executive leadership in operations and finance, supported by an MBA in Finance. She understands the pressures of high-performance workplaces, the weight carried by leaders, and the importance of clarity, resilience, and trust in both business and life.

After decades in banking, Dawn experienced a profound personal and professional transition that led her to the healing arts. What began as her own journey of transformation became a calling to support others in reconnecting with themselves, navigating change, and finding steadiness in the midst of life’s inevitable uncertainty. Today, she integrates her corporate leadership experience with trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, yoga, meditation, breathwork, and personal development.

Dawn is the CEO—Chief Energy Officer—of The Creatrix, where she offers classes, workshops, private sessions, corporate wellness consulting, mindfulness programs, retreats, and online offerings designed to help individuals and organizations cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and inner trust. She is also the co-owner of Sunflower Yoga Studio in Taylorsville, Utah, where she helps create accessible, heart-centered spaces for movement, meditation, learning, and community.

A certified E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, trauma-certified instructor, yoga nidra facilitator, and mindfulness teacher, Dawn specializes in trauma-informed yoga, meditation, yoga nidra, breathwork, and personal growth work. Her teaching is shaped by the belief that healing is not a linear path, but a spiral—an ongoing process of learning how to hold pain, reclaim peace, and live with greater authenticity and freedom.

In addition to her work through The Creatrix and Sunflower Studio, Dawn serves as Board Chair and facilitator at The Wellness Farm Foundation in Bluffdale, Utah, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals navigating grief and trauma through community-based healing practices. Her service there reflects her deep commitment to making healing, mindfulness, and embodied support more accessible to those who need it.

Dawn’s life and work are rooted in the intersection of business wisdom and human wholeness. She brings the perspective of a former executive, the heart of a teacher, and the lived understanding of someone who has transformed her own life from the inside out. Whether working with business leaders, private clients, students, or community members, Dawn’s intention is to help others remember their own inner wisdom, build self-trust, and move through life with more grace, grit, and gratitude.

When she is not teaching, writing, consulting, or facilitating, Dawn can often be found hiking in the Utah mountains, creating art, tending her garden, or spending time with her family and beloved dogs.
