Dawn Cannon Bio
Dawn Cannon is a trauma-informed yoga teacher, meditation guide, and wellness mentor who helps others navigate life transitions with grace and purpose. Drawing from her own journey of transformation—from C-suite banking executive to mindful movement teacher—Dawn brings a unique blend of corporate wisdom and healing arts to her work.
As a certified RYT-500 and trauma-certified yoga instructor, graduate of the Waking Up with the Yoga of Sleep Yoga Nidra facilitation training, and mindfulness teacher, Dawn creates safe, nurturing spaces for exploration and growth. Her approach integrates gentle movement, meditation, sound healing, and practical mindfulness tools that help busy professionals and caregivers find ground amidst life's challenges.
Dawn's path to teaching wellness was born from her own healing journey. After spending over two decades in the banking industry, most recently as Chief Operating Officer, she discovered how yoga and meditation could transform both professional and personal lives. This experience sparked her passion for helping others find balance, particularly during major life transitions.
Her teaching style weaves together trauma-sensitive approaches, practical mindfulness tools, and gentle encouragement. Whether leading a group class, facilitating a private session, or guiding a sound meditation, Dawn meets each person exactly where they are, offering a structured yet nurturing path toward greater self-awareness and peace.
Beyond her yoga certifications, Dawn holds an MBA in Finance and brings her gift for creating order from complexity to her wellness offerings. She serves on the board of The Wellness Farm Foundation, where she helps make healing practices accessible to a broader community. She is co-owner of Sunflower Yoga Studio and founder of The Creatrix, LLC, where she offers classes, workshops, and in-person private sessions.
Dawn's teaching integrates her extensive business background with her deep understanding of healing modalities, creating a unique bridge between corporate and wellness worlds. She specializes in helping others navigate life's transitions, establish healthy boundaries, and reconnect with their inner wisdom—all while maintaining their professional edge.
When not teaching or practicing, Dawn can be found hiking in the Utah mountains, creating art, tending her garden, or spending time with her three children and beloved dogs. She believes in the power of continuous learning and brings a spirit of curiosity and compassion to everything she does.
Dawn is currently accepting new private clients and offers both in-person and virtual sessions. She also regularly leads workshops, sound baths, and specialized programs for organizations looking to bring mindfulness into their workplace culture.
